Wood-Splitters is a small family owned company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our aim is to provided axe throwing enthusiast with an environment to play axe throwing games to their leisure.
All our Instructor undergo training to ensure that they can enforce all the safety rules and teach you how to play properly!

Axe throwing is a very competitive sport! Here at Wood-Splitters we'll teach you the basics of Axe Throwing till you get the hang of it. Games are fast and easy to do, and anyone can play from all ages to all genders! We'll make sure you feel comfortable throwing an Axe then we'll show you some neat tips and tricks to play!

Derek (the owner) went ABOVE & BEYOND to ensure my group had an incredible experience. Staff was helpful from start to finish and everyone had a blast! Cannot recommend this place enough!
There are not enough wonderful adjectives in the English language to say about Wood-Splitters. We hosted our son's surprise 16th Birthday Party here with 15 teen boys. The staff allowed us to bring in food and cupcakes - they setup and cleaned up an area for the boys. They were patient and engaging with the boys and the boys had an awesome experience. We will definitely be back and encourage you to try this as well.
This place is awesome! Came with a friend this past week and had a blast throwing some axes around. Chucking some axes and watching them stick into the center of a target is surprisingly therapeutic haha. The owner Derek was very friendly and took plenty of time going through proper throwing technique and safety advice. It took a few throws to get dialed in, but once you understand the motion it's really simple and anyone can do it. I even saw a few kids who looked around 7 or 8 years old throwing and hitting the targets(!). I believe they're planning on having some league nights so I'm definitely going to check that out. This would be a great group activity - go check them out.
Axe throwing is so addictive, but this place takes it up a notch. The owner Derek is awesome and his passion for the sport is infectious. If you've never been here before and you're thinking about going, don't hesitate, you'll have a great time!
No Experience? NO PROBLEM! The owner and staffing are there to guide you and show you just how easily your technique can be perfected. The atmosphere is excellent - Wood-Splitters is the place to let loose and have some laughs. Perfect for groups, dates, or to hone in on your skills. Wood-splitters is seriously AMAZING! This was my first experience with axe throwing and it couldn't have been better. The employees were all super friendly and sociable, and they spent so much time helping our group out, giving us throwing tips and other one-on-one attention. You can tell they love what they do and that makes such a difference! If you are questioning whether or not you will be any good at throwing, give it a chance. I wasn't sure how I'd do and I found out I was actually pretty good! Plus it feels good when you stick a throw. Music was amazing and perfect for throwing, great atmosphere, and tons of fun. If I lived in Michigan I would definitely go all the time. 10/10 recommend... give it a chance! You won't regret it.
If you’ve never been axe throwing before PLEASE go to Wood Splitters. They have a huge facility with lots of throwing lanes, the employees are very helpful yet not too in-your-business about rules, and overall axe throwing is a blast. The staff was eager to give us tips to improve our throw, and they paid close attention to the condition of the axe/target to maximize our experience quality and safety. This is a great place to bring a large party. There’s lots of seating and it’s very spacious. On top of all of that, they let us stay for as long as we liked even though we only paid for an hour. I had so much fun and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique way to spend an evening.
